The wedding day is all about the
happy couple. Yet, they share the stage with that small group of friends and
family known as the Bridal Party. The tradition originates from the times when
the groomsmen helped the groom steal the bride away from her family. In modern
times, these comrades are relied on more for wardrobe malfunctions and moral
support. But how should you pick this bunch?Always remember; the goal is to make your wedding day the happiest it can be. Think of these people as your team. They are chosen to help you. They should be the people who know you the best. A good place to start is with your siblings; they've seen you at your absolute worst. Or maybe you come from a smaller family, and grew up surrounded by childhood companions. Your high school friends saw you change from total dweeb to acceptable human being. But unless you're getting hitched particularly young, there's a good chance it's been a while since high school. Then comes that crew of deviants you tore up your early twenties with; the college friends. College friends always make sure the couple celebrate the wedding to the absolute max. A tricky group to select from are your work friends. Chances are, you haven't known them that long, and it will be tough to choose among them.
My advice: pick from these people those who are closest to your heart. Maybe you haven't seen them for a long time, but if you know they should be up there with you, definitely ask them to be apart of the party. Go with your gut. Remember that it's your wedding and you are under no obligation to include anyone who would bring you down. This is a chance to make a group of individuals that represent all different parts of your life so far. Surround yourself with love.
